United Way of Central Texas - 211 HelplineThe United Way of Central Texas 2-1-1 HELPLINE helps with Basic needs, like utilities, rent assistance, and food, topped the list of requests last year, followed by child care, homeless shelter locations. Trained HELPLINE specialists provide information and referrals drawn from a comprehensive database of social services. 2-1-1 always answers the call for help, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in many languages.

FEMA Disaster AssistanceThe Disaster Assistance Improvement Program’s (DAIP) mission is to provide disaster survivors with information, support, services, and a means to access and apply for disaster assistance through joint data-sharing efforts between federal, tribal, state, local, and private sector partners.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Bell County to provide one-on-one help to anyone affected by the tornado and severe weather that hit Bell County on May 22.

Disaster Unemployment AssistanceThe Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) in five additional counties impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began on April 26. As noted in the announcement from Governor Greg Abbott, the amended Presidential Disaster Declaration now includes Austin, Bell, Calhoun, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Henderson, Hockley, Jasper, Jones, Kaufman, Lamar, Liberty, Montague, Montgomery, Newton, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, and Waller Counties.
