Thursday evening Bradley Sheppard took to the stage at the annual Chamber Banquet Awards to bid his fare well as chairman of the board for the past year. Sheppard moved to Belton in 2001 and has come to love the community and everything that it stands for. He may be stepping down from the position, but will always remember the experience as a memorable and gainful one.
“I truly enjoyed my time as Chairman of the Board for the Belton Chamber. It was very fulfilling to see, from that side, the way that Belton is growing and the great potential still to be had,” said Sheppard. “Belton is such a wonderful community and that is one of it’s greatest aspects, it is a community. A place where you can spend 2 hours getting milk at the grocery store because you see 30 people you know. The chamber is much the same. The members of the chamber make up a great community of business owners, professionals and great people who care about Belton and the people who live here.”
The Chamber of Commerce is a membership run business organization that gives small businesses the opportunity to network and become more successful in their ventures.
“I gained a great respect for the tremendous amount of work that is put forth everyday by volunteers, as well as the chamber staff,” said Sheppard.
Sheppard is the Regional Manager/Realtor for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, so he will continue to be active in the Belton community.
“When we can touch people’s lives. When we can help them get a start.
When we can make them feel a part of this great community; then we have accomplished something,” said Sheppard.
